Today's Top Five: Animal Sounds
Judah's got a book of animals. It's actually in Italian (Mamaw brought it to him after her trip to Italy) but he loves to look at the pictures and hear dad make the animal noises. These are his personal favorites.
4. Meow - I think he likes this one mostly because it is associated with an animal he gets to see on a daily basis. I think he still has some confusion over the fact that sometimes we refer to them as "Susie" and "Autre" other times as "kitty" and still others as "cat". But regardless of nomenclature, little man knows what sound they make. "Meow".
3. Tweet - This one has little to do with the animal associated with it (the generic and completely unscientific, bird) or even the sound itself and much to do with the way I make the sound. When we're reading his animal book and get to the bird I say "tweet tweet" while sort of pecking at his head and ruffling his hair. The kid LOL's everytime.
2. Ribbit - Again a sound that is prized not so much for the sound or the animal, but what accompanies it. We generally read the animal book with Judah sitting on my lap and when it's time to "ribbit" we do a little hippity-hop along with it. That's right, my kid will probably want to drive a low-rider with hydraulics when he grows up.
1. Moo - Classic. Simple. Easy to imitate, the cow's moo is far and away Judah's favorite animal sound. He likes it so much, in fact, that any large vaguely cow-shaped animal is immediately accompanied by a point and a "moooo" from little man.
