Conversations With Ella
Ella: (Upon hearing that I'm on my way home from work.) Ok good. The
natives are getting restless.

(After being asked how she's doing since the birth of our second
child) I'm in a perpetual state of pajamas. @mrsawesome (Ella)
Took Ella and Judah out to the Aquarium today, because there's only so long you can stay at home, even if it is as awesome as ours is!
On our way to the New Orleans Museum of Art, I stopped to show Ella a great house near where I've been working.
We spoke with the homeowner, who designed the house herself. She and a friend are doing the work themselves. She also has a great start on a neat garden (other than a poorly located Cypress tree according to Ella).
About Ryan's intro: Did Ryan just say "We'll see who sets the standard"? Ooh, puns!
About judge's wardrobes: At least Randy's not wearing his Jamaican necklace!
About the audience: Who is the random bald headed guy in the audience? They showed him again!
When Gokey started weirdly off-tempo and soft: Why is he singing like that?
About Danny: Everything he sings would be played on "Delilah".
About family memories: I'm tired of everybody's families saying, "He sang as a little kid. We always know he could sing." Whatever!
About Chris' staging: Its like they're trying to make him look like a rockstar by putting him out in the audience, but all the girls around
are all like, "Oh...yay."
About Kara's critique of Chris: Short version - You didn't turn me on.
About Lil's dance moves: She's mimicking Tina move for move right on beat. And I'm a Tina Turner fan, so I've seen that video enough times
to know what she did.
About Paula's critique of Lil: Wow, I actually agree with Paula!
When Simon word for word repeats her opinion of Lil: Simon's reading my friggin' mind!
About Kara's critique of Lil: Everything Kara says equals "You didn't turn me on."
When it was Anoop's turn: Who gives a crap?
About Anoop's look: He looks like a gummy bear. He looks like a squished gummy bear. Like a very hairy gummy bear.
About Anoop's performance: Well we have to take him serious now, he's giving the camera the sad eyes. He must really mean it, Joel.
About this season as a whole: I get the feeling that this season is an elaborate practical joke by the judges.
When Anoop breaks it down: Ooh, he's gonna R&B it up!
When Kara was positive about Anoop: Those sad eyes must have worked on Kara. She's happy = turned on.
About Adam: Every week he does something technically good, but it doesn't sound like concert it sounds like he's coming from an off-off-
broadway play.
About Anoop's song choice: Usher? This isn't a change. He still likes that ghetto skeezy music.
About Anoop in general: I bet in private, he calls himself "Mr. Cool". He's always doin' it for the ladies.
About Meghan: To pull a Paula, "Well, first of all, you look fantastic."
About Kara's assessment of Meghan: Kara needs to get off this show.
When Paula agreed with Kara: I can't help it if I see genius when nobody else does!
About the judges in general: These people are deaf!
After Meghan's performance: My humor is shot now. Oh, wait. Mr. Muppet (Danny Gokey) may give it back to me.
About Danny's interview: Of course you do. You wanna "save the world" with your voice.
About Danny's performance: I bet Paula's gonna love that. "What I like about that is that you made it...your own." Danny Gokey-fied.
About Randy's assessment of Danny: What the heck does that mean? Keep it movin'? Come on now? Keep what movin'?
About Allison's assertion that she "grew up" listening to No Doubt: Of course you did. It came out before you were born.
About Scott's hair: What did they do with his hair?
About the judges critiques: I love how the judges know who all these contestants "are" even though the contestants don't. Everybody except Danny Gokey. He knows exactly who he is!
When the judges continue to tell contestants (Lil this time) how they aren't who they are: I have nothing further to say. I'm...over the moon.
About Adam: If this is where the next generation Is going with music and style, I'm embarassed for Judah.
After Adam's performance: I really want Simon to call him indulgent. I really want him to say it.
About Paula's comparisons for Adam (Mick Jagger and Steven Tyler): (Speechless. Mouth gaping open.)
When Simon does not call him indulgent: Crap.
About Kara's reference to Studio 57: What is Studio 57? She's really got a problem with numbers.
After Chris' performance: I gotta say, tonight up is down, left is right, it's a total chaos "cats and dogs livin' together" situation when I like a Chris performance, but I did. Other than his chipmunk face at the end, he did good.
About Kara's "three words": She couldn't help herself she had to throw in that "wooo" and make it four.
Ella would like to assert that she was completely preturbed by the judges tonight and her funny might not have "been broughted". We hope that next week will contain more humor and less unconstrained anger towards the judges.
